Weight Watchers!

So a few post ago I wrote about trying to get healthy and I'm proud to say I've actually been trying:) Doug and I did a 7 day cleanse called the "eat your heart out" cleanse. It was hard but we made it thru the week and I lost 8lbs. I of course gained almost 5 pounds the next day even though I started weight watchers the day after the cleanse. I was bummed to gain over half back BUT my #1 goal was to prove myself that I had will power and that I did!
My first week of weight watchers was actually a lot easier than I thought it would be. I never felt like I was deprived or on a "diet."
It's weird because I've tried counting calories but I never stuck to it AT ALL, but counting points is a breeze to me. It's like subconsciously I have a negative feeling about calories. Anyway today was my first week and my first weigh in and in soooo happy to report that I lost 3.6lbs!!! I know it's not much especially compared to the 8 on the cleanse but these are lbs that will stay off. We even celebrated Doug's birthday and I still lost weight! I feel on top of the world right now:) I did so well I even convinced Doug to join weight watchers too:)
Since Doug joined in he has been super supportive (except on his birthday lol) and we have come up with some fun new recipes, we've been measuring EVERYTHING! It's actually been pretty fun. My favorite recipe so far was the no guilt ice cream. It was blue bell no sugar vanilla ice cream, a banana, and 1/2 tbs of chocolate syrup. It was a total of three points and SOOO good! I can't wait for next weeks weigh in (I never though I'd say that) and then I can even report how Doug did!
Yay to a healthy family!

Trying to get healthy for baby number 2 (or three;)

So Doug and I have been trying for another baby for 15 months now and it's been an up and down journey. Overall I think it's brought us a lot closer together emotionally. Since we have been trying for over a year we can see a fertility doctor (yay!) we have gone twice and so far so good. We just LOVE our doctor. She's super nice, funny and overall very compassionate. She doesn't treat us like a number and we don't feel like we're waisting any time. The day after our first appt she sent us to get some blood work and the next week when we saw her she said I am not ovulating so she prescribed me clomid. Clomid is suppose to help me ovulate and hopefully it works:) we have three cycles worth and if it doesn't she will send us to a specialist in San Antonio.
Any who she also said Doug and I should try to be as healthy as possible if I do get pregnant. She told Doug anything I do he has to do which I like because it helps us feel like we really are doing this together. So we have cut off caffeine completely (so long diet coke), and started to really eat more veggies and fruit. To be honest it's so expensive to eat healthy and it's easier to eat junk (and faster) but we know our doctor is right so we are trying our best to listen. Also we are suppose to be active for at least 60 min a day. The active part is my favorite and easiest so far. Yes I have a three year old and Doug and I really are always on the go with her but its been amazing the last few weeks because Bella has been learning to ride her bike. She started in a red tricycle that was very close to the ground and now rides a 14 inch bike! The bike looked giant at first but she rides it like a pro now. For valentines day we even got her a basket, some steamers, a new bell, and a water bottle for her bike. It's super cute! So now Bella and go to the park or around the neighborhood almost every day and I walk/run while she rides. We do anywhere from 1-2 1/2 miles a day. She really goes fast enough for me to run along side her and today while I was running I was thinking "man this is so awesome that I get to work out with my favorite girl." I think half the battle with me is letting go of the guilt of leaving her for 1-2 hours everyday to work out. I know it's not much time but when Doug comes home and I go to work out we only spend dinner together as a family and that's it. And walking/running with Bella AND Doug sometimes just makes my whole day. It really has become my favorite part of the day. This last few months/year were hard on my heart. I can't express how much I wanted a baby brother or sister for Bella and a new baby in our family but I feel so grateful for the two other members in my family now and I love the time we are spending together to make it possible.

Bed Time Stories.

Part of Bella's bedtime routine is reading a book or two or three (sometimes 5) depending on how tired Doug and I are lol but the past 2 weeks she's been picking out the same book every night. It's "my mommy is magic." It's so sweet reading it to her because every time I read to her she points out how I'm magic and how she's the little girl in the book and how when she grows up she's going to be magic like me. Usually after I read to her she says "mommy I love you, your the best mommy ever." It's my favorite sentence in the world:)

P.s thank you ain't Becky for getting her this book for Christmas :)

She's my mom.

Recently I've been trying to get Bella to understand that her Grammy is my mom and that her Tia's are my sister. It's been kind of confusing so I asked my mom to send me some pictures of me when i was younger and she did.
She sent me the sweetest picture of me as a baby and her holding me. I think sometimes as daughters we forget/don't realize that our mothers love us as much as we love our babies. This picture reminds me of how much my mom loves me. The way she was holding me and just looks so happy and I'm just snuggled and asleep and obviously feel so safe in her arms. I just wanted to share because I seriously LOVE this. I love the moment.
Bella does understand a little more that she's my mom but I think I gained more from these photos this time:)

Ward Christmas Party.

We had our ward christmas party and it was a busy fun day! It was an ugly sweater party and Doug and I managed to find some pretty ugly sweaters at goodwill. There was a lot of people who showed up with LOTS of food. Bella looked super cute in her ugly sweater and she couldn't wait to show her friends. Poor girlie was having a fever on and off that day so I let her take off:)
She had so much fun running around with her friends and they even set up karaoke so she LOVED that! And when Santa came she was so cute she came running to Doug and I to take us to him. We are so lucky to have such a nice ward family.

Happy Halloween!

kids make holidays so fun! The older Bella gets the more excited we get to celebrate with her. Bella has been looking forward to Halloween for MONTHS! She loves watching Halloween movies, anything with pumpkins and dressing up. This yet we didn't even have to tell her to say trick or treat when we got to the doors. She just knew and always said "thank you." Or "happy Halloween!" To the people that have her candy it was so cute!

We went with my sister and her family again this year but instead of going around her neighborhood we went to Harrison blvd. I herd it was fun and wanted to try and my sister an her husband were good sports and agreed to go there. When I got there it was WAY busier than I thought. I had no idea it was possible to be that crazy in Idaho. It was fun though and an experience. I probably won't go again but the company made it fun:) Olivia and Bella had so much fun and I can't get over how big and beautiful they are. Of course Jakey-boo was adorable too:)

After we were done trick or treating we went to my mother in laws house and Bella got to show off her costume to her grandparents and play with her cousin jarron. It was such a fun Halloween and I can't wait for next year! Hopefully we'll get to trick or treat in Idaho again.
